Tales of the Numen
Book One: Comfort Station On a space station in the far future, two strong-willed men clash in this science fictionnovel of lust, political intrigue, obsession, love, betrayal, and redemption.Jeremiah MacDonald is a Numen, a mutated human who possesses electrical powers. His quest for his missing daughters, kidnapped by pirates who raided Falon, his homeworld, takes him to Geronimo Station, a haven for anyone with money to spend. There, he meets Seth Aaron Millitello, the engimatic owner of the Comfort Station, a night club / casino / brothel that is infamous throughout the galaxy for the myriad services it provides, as well as for the charms and ruthlessness of its proprietor. On Geronimo Station, Seth is the law. Seth, too, has a mission, one to which he has dedicated more than half his life. But his obsession with Jeremiah MacDonald jeopardizes his goal — to save the future. Book Two: Colony World Nearly twenty years have passed since the events of Comfort Station and Seth and Jer have settled on Roseveldt, a peaceful, pastoral planet. But Namir Kral, an outsider with a secret agenda, has declared himself dictator and had Seth, his chief opponent, arrested. Now, with Seth scheduled to be hanged on a trumped up charge of treason, Jer and his grandson Simon, a powerful young kinetic, must save Seth without revealing their Numen talents. As the power play ensues, danger from elsewhere in the galaxy threatens Roseveldt and it quickly becomes clear that Kral has more than controlling Roseveldt in mind. Even Kral doesn't know what he's capbable of, but he does understand the danger Roseveldt and the galaxy face from the vicious pirates that had years ago decimated Falon and his own homeworld. He will do whatever is necessary to defeat the enemy, but Simon MacDonald proves to be a distraction that could interfere with his plans. Can adversaries form an alliance to end the menace posed by the pirates? Or will Roseveldt suffer the same fate as Falon and dozens of other planets? ---o0o--- FTL 1-2 — Science fiction stories. ---o0o---
